125 cc legend Pierpaolo Bianchi to ride at Spa-Francorchamps!
Less than a week before the start of the Bikers' Classics the Italian 125 icon Pierpaolo Bianchi has been added to the list of participants.
Bianchi is one of the most successful riders in 125 history. In his 15 years of Grand Prix racing Bianchi clinched three world titles on Morbidelli and MBA and he won 24 Grand Prix in the 125 class. Only Angel Nieto and Carlo Ubbiali gained more success in that category. Bianchi has also won an FIM medal seven times, granted to a rider who finishes in the top 3 of a championship. Apart from that the Italian, now 58, scored 56 125 podiums. In 1984 and 1986 Bianchi raced both in 125 and in the smaller 80 cc class. He also managed to win three 80 cc races. Thirty years after winning his last world title Bianchi returns to Spa-Francorchamps, a circuit where he was victorious in 1977 and 1978 in the 125 class.
