Fast Women at Spa
The entries are pouring in for the 4 Hours of Spa Classic endurance race held over the super challenging Spa circuit in Belgium.
The latest stars to sign up are Maria Costello and Sophie Smith Melcion – two of the world’s fastest female racers.
Sophie is a regular participant in French classic races and Maria is best known for her heroic exploits in the Isle of Man when, in 2004, she became the fastest woman ever round the tortuous 37 and ¾ miles long TT course.
Maria was also the first woman to stand on the podium of the Isle of Man TT Course race when she finished third in the Ultra Lightweight Race at the 2005 Manx Grand Prix.
Sophie and Maria are riding a formidable Offenstadt Kawasaki at Spa and you can be certain that they will be challenging hard for honours in this toughest of all the Classic endurance race.
