Bikers' CLassics - Bikers' Passion

Welcome to you all.

Since several years now, the passion for classic bikes has reached unseen heights. Everyone wants to relive or discover that marvellous era of great champions. An era characterised by its extreme emotions, joy and tears, incredible manoeuvres and exceptional performances in the seat of legendary motorcycles.

The Bikers’ Classics are already at their seventh edition. The way that led the Belgian organisers to what the Bikers’ Classics are today, has resulted in an event that has become a true European reference in its kind.

Thanks to the many and big efforts, investments and invitations of some of the greatest names in motorcycle history, the Bikers’ Days can nowadays compete with the English events of this kind. And that means a lot, because if someone is renown for the quality of their classic events, it’s the British. It helps of course that the Bikers’ Classics take place at the track of Spa-Francorchamps. Of all tracks, this one is without any doubt the most mythical one. It’s been many riders’ dream already and a victory on this track is very often the apotheosis on many racers’ list of victories.

The track itself may have changed considerably; the atmosphere however hasn’t changed one bit. Especially at the occasion of the Bikers’ Classics parades. Parades that not only feature some of the greatest motorcycle champions but also more than six hundred riders on a panoply of the most beautiful, best reserved or restored machines in history.

Each year is dedicated to a special theme. This year, from 19 to 21 June 2009, it’s the World Championship 750cc that gets put in the spotlights. A championship that disappeared about thirty years ago but showed us, during its short existence, some of the most exceptional machines and ditto champions.
The famous Yamaha OW 31, Suzuki’s, Ducati’s, John Player Norton’s and many other icons will make the track of Spa shiver underneath the mixture of the sound of strident two strokes and the clapping of the four stroke engines.

The 2009 edition will also pay honour to the career of Luigi Taveri. A specialist in small displacements who, thanks to the factory support of Honda, offered Switzerland their first world titles.

Two events that perfectly complete the parade, as well as the large exhibition of thousands of bikes in the paddocks of Spa- Francorchamps.
