The 4 Hours Classic of Spa Endurance race was won by the Spanish Moto Guzzi couple Segarra-Segarra.
The surprise winners took over the lead in the final hour of the race when almost certain winners Charles-Artigues-Sleurs experienced unsolvable problems with their Moto Guzzi. Father and son De Ridder (Suzuki) from Holland unexpectedly finished second. They looked set to finish third until the German team of Wobker/Fohne failed to see the chequered flag due to a completely empty tank. Because of this unfortunate mishap the British Belgian pairing Smith/Gijsbrecht Honda moved up to third in the last lap.
Richard Hubin´s race was cut very short when his Yamaha ran into gear box problems on his third lap. The fast Belgian duo Mertens/De Radigues also were denied a finish when their Dholda gave in to electrical problems in the very last lap.
